Strategic Plan
Goals for 2009-10 School Year
I. Student Achievement of Eight Mission Targeted Learning Outcomes
Goal 1: Integrate the values of Restorative Discipline into daily practice at St. Joan
Antida High School in order to engender in our students a sense of personal responsibility for their actions and responsibility for strengthening relationships within the school community.
Goal 2: Improve the academic performance of our students by providing professional
development that includes not only dynamic teaching and literacy strategies to be used in all classrooms, but opportunities to have these practices modeled, and then observed in each classroom by peers, an instructional coach, and the principal.
Goal 3: Develop Professional Learning Communities to analyze MAP and ACT test data
for the purpose of informing instructional practices that will result in improved student achievement on these tests in the next testing cycle.
Goal 4: Develop opportunities such as student government that will augment leadership opportunities for freshwomen, sophomores, juniors and seniors and give them a voice in the formation of polices that affect student life.
II. Expand Capacity for Advancing the Mission
Goal 1: Complete a total assessment of Advancement department with a focus on improving efforts in all areas (admissions, fundraising, etc.)
Goal 2: Create and implement a Public Relations plan to address misconceptions and create a positive identity of SJA.
Goal 3: Support extensive professional development for school staff focusing on new technology, new strategies, and best practice.
Goal 4: Continue to upgrade facilities based on need and ability to fund.
