Ways to Give
Annual Fund:
The Annual Fund is the primary means for alumnae, parents of graduates and our friends to support the annual operating budget of SJA. While 90% of our girls participate in the Milwaukee School Choice voucher program, there is still a significant gap between the full cost of education and the Choice reimbursement we receive or the tuition that students pay. In fact, the actual cost of educating a student at SJA for the 2009/10 year is $10,412. The reimbursement we receive via the Milwaukee School Choice Voucher Program is $6,442 per student; our tuition fee is even lower at $5,300. Minimally, then, every student receives a subsidy from the school of approximately $4,000, which the school must cover through fundraising.
Sponsor A Student
The program invites individuals and companies to partner with SJA by covering all or a portion of the tuition for a young woman who would otherwise be unable to attend the school. Our goal is to make an SJA education affordable to all who desire it. Sponsors who are matched with a student will receive a personal update letter two times a year from the young woman.
The Holly and Patrick Ryan Scholarship Fund- in honor of Holly Ryan and her late husband, Patrick Ryan, the scholarship will be given to deserving students of SJA.
The Sister Nancy Dragotta Fund – in honor of Sister Nancy Dragotta was put together by the alumnae of SJA. Scholarships will be given to deserving students.
PLANNED AND ESTATE OPTION
A planned gift will ensure that your assets are passed on to their intended beneficiaries and carries on your legacy as a supporter of SJA. Include a provision in your will or trust naming SJA as a beneficiary or declare SJA a beneficiary under a life insurance policy, pension plan, IRA or other retirement vehicles. Please contact your attorney for clarification.
IN-KIND GIFTS
SJA welcomes donations and services that will benefit our school. The donor determines the gift value through appraisal, record of purchase or billing statement.
MEMORIALS
Gifts may be made in memory of and/or to honor a member of your family or the school’s family that has passed away. Memorial gifts may be made in sponsorship or a scholarship of a SJA student. Families will be notified when these gifts are received.
Matching Gifts
You could double the impact of your gift if you or your spouse works for a matching gift company. Check with your human resources department to pick up a form and send it along with your check.
