How to Make a Gift
The Annual Appeal is a yearly drive that helps support the educational success of the young women who attend our school. Every year we reach out and ask our current parents, alumnae, past parents and all other donors to help give the difference between the cost of tuition and the cost of educating these young women. This appeal is vital to maintaining the academic enhancements needed to provide a quality education at SJA. Every dollar contributed to the Annual Appeal has helped a young woman achieve and thrive here at SJA. Special benefactors who provide cumulative annual support of $1000 or more are recognized as part of the Sr. Monica Fumo Society. Sr. Monica Fumo, during her almost 40 years of service at SJA, is known to students, alumnae, benefactors and staff members alike as the "heart and face" of SJA.
SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Almost 100% of our students qualify for full or partial scholarships. It is our philosophy to educate every student who deserves a values based education.
The Holly and Patrick Ryan Scholarship Fund- in honor of Holly Ryan and her late husband, Patrick Ryan, the scholarship will be given to deserving students of SJA.
EMPLOYEE MATCHING GIFTS
Many companies will match contributions made by their employees to tax-exempt schools. This gift may be double or tripled the amount pledged by the employee. Simply complete and attach your employer’s Matching Gift form when sending in your donation. SJA will then complete their half of the form and send it to your employer. We offer recognition for your gift along with that of your employer in our Annual Report.
PLANNED AND ESTATE OPTION
A planned gift will ensure that your assets are passed on to their intended beneficiaries and carries on your legacy as a supporter of SJA. Include a provision in your will or trust naming SJA as a beneficiary or declare SJA a beneficiary under a life insurance policy, pension plan, IRA or other retirement vehicles. IN-KIND GIFTS
SJA welcomes donations and services that will benefit our school. The donor determines the gift value through appraisal, record of purchase or billing statement.
MEMORIALS
Gifts may be made in memory of and/or to honor a member of your family or the school’s family that has passed away. Memorial gifts may be made in sponsorship or a scholarship of a SJA student. Families will be notified when these gifts are received.
SECURITIES
Stocks, bonds and mutual funds are another way to donate to SJA. These types of gifts not only provide a full, fair market value tax savings to the donor, it is another way to avoid paying capital gain taxes while assisting our students.
A generous program provided by Target provides a simple way to raise funds for our school. All you have to do is use your Target® Visa® or Target® Card.
